Peter's brush with fame, however, was to bring forth two fortuitous consequences. The first was the reunion of his lost family and the mother who had abandoned him as a small helpless infant. The fickle finger of fate was again to cut short Perke's moment of joy as his mother met her demise, asphyxiated by a No. 88 bingo ball. An inquest brought a verdict of accidental death as Peter described how his newly found parent had been chasing his bingo machine and it had "just gone off", Peter also detailing that the machine had "quite a suck to it The inquest also chose not to contest the small inheritance bequeathed to Perky by deceased mother. To this day the phrase "two fat ladies" can often be seen to bring a tear to Perke's eye.

With the mixed fortune of his inheritance also became aquainted with Eddie Spayed, who whilst supplying seafood platters for the wake, it was also revealed to Peter, was a top showbiz agent Eddy, having heard Peter Perky's easy listening crooning at the mourning, was instantly interested in signing him up and through Eddie's connections and a small investment from Perk's inheritance, a deal was struck for Peter to host a cable T.V. show called 'Show Growth' in which celebrities had to speculate on the size, nature and prognosis of various growths attached to members of the studio audience who had been bussed in from various hospitals in the local area. Sadly this show was axed after on transmission, as was a subsequent show called 'Tickle your Fancy, in questions, due to the over excitement of one female contestant (and it was later revealed obsessive fan and bingo addict)enflames by over tickling and Perky proximity.

Undeterred by his mixed bag of fortunes Perky is still set on his mission with an almost religeous zeal, to bring glamour to the frumpy and that quintessential perkiness to the drab minions and will subject all to his suave irresistable charm of the spinning ball of glitter that is Peter Perke.
